How do you make your own clip-in extensions?

I had some weave in my hair and it pulled out my hair on the left side of my head. My hair looks really weird now since my right side is really thick, long, and healthy looking while the left side looks like a disaster. I want to use clip-ins on the right side of my head until it grows back evenly with the other side (however long that takes). I tried glue, it clearly didnt work. A sew in isn't ideal to me at the moment so I'm trying something new. It will be very helpful if you give directions clearly because I have no type of knowledge about weave and whatnot (I'm going to be doing it by myself this time). Thanks!
