My 7 week old has acid reflux, need advice?
Ok, I KNOW a lot of YA doesn't believe that most babies have acid reflux and that it's way over diagnosed.... All mine were diagnosed with it and took medicine that seemed to really help. Ella didn't respond to the first medicine, but I saw a BIG improvement in this second medicine. She doesn't cry during nursings now, she doesn't arch her back and seem in pain. She sleeps better... but she has been getting worse on choking/gagging on the milk. Almost every nursing now and randomly during the day she will have some reflux come up and she gets...stuck. She can't seem to get it all the way up or back down. So, she can't breath and it's a horrible couple of seconds watching her. Her eyes bug out and her face turns red and she flails her little arms because she can't breath with the milk caught in her throat. Tonight was one of the worst episodes I've seen. She just couldn't ge the milk to move and her lips were actually turning blue! First thing in the morning I'm calling the peds to discuss this. But, did anyone else have something like this happen with their child? It's REALLY scary to watch and it's such a hopeless/helpless feeling because there's nothing I can do to help! :(
